Tribute to Muhammad Ali by Indian Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik

Pattnaik’s sculture was on display on the day the boxing legend was laid to rest in his home city of Louisville.

Indian sand-artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tribute to boxing legend Muhammad Ali on Thursday through a sand sculpture on Odisha’s Puri beach.

He used nearly three tonnes of sand to build the sculpture of Ali’s face on two boxing gloves. The message on the sculpture read, “A Tribute to Muhammad Ali”.

I am big fan of Muhammad Ali and wanted to pay my tribute to him through this sand sculpture.

Ali was a three-time heavyweight champion and is well known for his showmanship, political activism and devotion to humanitarian causes. The people’s champ died on 3 June at the age of 74, due to septic shock.
