The BCCI Selection Committee has named the squads for the remaining two ODIs against South Africa and also the first two Test matches of the four-game series.

The hosts trail the ODI series 2-1 after the game in Rajkot last night and the one casualty of the team’s performance so far has been Umesh Yadav. The fast bowler has made way for Sreenath Aravind for the remaining two fixtures of the series.

Aravind made his debut for India earlier this month when he played a T20 games against the Proteas.

Test Squad Announced

Board secretary Anurag Thakur also announced the team for the first two Tests in the South African series that starts on the 5th of November.

Ravindra Jadeja, who last played in whites for India in August, 2014 has earned a comeback, based on his domestic performances of late. The all-rounder picked up 24 wickets and scored a 91 and a 58 in the last two Ranji matches for Saurashtra this season.

Led by Virat Kohli the squad has 16 players - Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul, Stuart Binny, Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma.

Though Anurag Thakur forgot to mention R Ashwin’s name during the announcement, he later added the spinners name on the roster, adding that he would have recovered in time from the side strain he picked up during the second ODI last week.

The Test series will begin from November 5 with Mohali, Bengaluru, Nagpur and Delhi as the venues respectively.
