Saudi Arabia will witness the first-ever WWE women's wrestling match on Thursday, 31 October, during the company's pay-per-view event, Crown Jewel. The match was announced on 30 October during a presser that was scheduled to promote the event.

This is a historic move for WWE since women's wrestling matches were previously blocked by the Saudi government. The match will take place between former WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Natalya and Lacey Evans.

Soon after the announcement, Natalya also announced the news on Twitter. “The world will be watching. I am so incredibly proud to represent our women’s division tomorrow night at WWE Crown Jewel. It’s time to bring your best, Lacey,” she said.

WWE had put on the first-ever women’s wrestling match in the Middle East in 2017, featuring a bout between Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Banks walked away as the winner on that night.
