When asked about how she received her first-ever boxing gloves, she said:

I bought the gloves on my own. I contacted one of the coaches in Manipur. I couldn’t afford the expensive ones. I could only afford the Rs 350 gloves. I started my career with those gloves. After I became a state champion, I got the gloves from the Sports Authority of India. Gradually, I got all the facilities.

The Manipuri boxer feels at times that she has too many responsibilities.

Sometimes I think, I’m too busy. Sometimes I say god why you make me this and that. I have so many responsibilities. I have to be a mother and take care of my profession everyday.
