India have beaten the defending champions and now zoom to the top of the group standings.

Pardeep, Rupinder and Ramandeep getting on the board for the blue jerseys in what was expected to be a high tension game. The commentators though announce the score and deflate the ‘high-tension’ predictions. “The Pakistani fans just gave the Indian team a huge ovation when they walked to their side of the stadium during the victory lap”

Five minutes left in the game and India have a 3-2 lead. Can they hold on?

Fun Fact: Pakistan are without their captain and senior most player Mohammad Imran because he sent his passport to the UK consulate for a visa, and didn't get it back in time to travel to Malaysia.

Two Goals in a Minute!

Rupinder Pal Singh gets the crowd on their feet. India are level at 2-2 in the 43rd minute after ‘Bob’ scores his seventh goal of the tournament - off a penalty corner.

...but just as the stadium (and the team) settled down with their celebrations - India got a third goal added to their tally. Ramaneep Singh scoring his third goal, in as many matches, off a field goal.

Over The Bar!

Talwinder Singh just about misses getting India on the board. A shot at goal and he takes it - ball breezes just inches over the bar.

Goal-less in First Quarter

India being forced to utilise their defensive skills at the very start of the match. The one scoring opportunity in the first 10 minutes went to the green jerseys - three minutes in and they were awarded a penalty corner.

Sreejesh though at his best - saved the initial shot and then recollected in time to block the rebound as well.

A quick look at how the teams are placed before Sunday’s group fixture. India took out Japan 10-2 in their opener and then were held to a 1-1 draw by Korea.

The line-ups are out and that name on top has a lot riding on his shoulders.

Serial-scoring drag-flicker Rupinder Pal Singh will need to get his game-face if India are to walk away from this match with all the points.

We are live with the India-Pakistan match being played out in Malaysia this Sunday afternoon.
