Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Yuzvendra Chahal got the two crucial wickets of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal during their Indian Premier League match against Kings XI Punjab.

The spinner returned with 2/33 but had nothing on his former teammate Chris Gayle who remained unbeaten on 99 (off 64 balls).

And the two – Chahal and Gayle – had interesting run-ins during the first innings of the match at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Chandigarh.

When Gayle was celebrating his half-century in the 9th over, he had a bit of a run-in with the much smaller Chahal.

At the end of the 20 overs, when former Aussie cricketer Mel Jones asked Chahal about the run-in and whether he’d be able to take Gayle on, the Indian bowler laughed and said, “No no, no chance. He’s too small for me”.

Earlier in the seventh over, the two had been spotted having a bit of a laugh during the innings.

Gayle missed out on his century by just one run but his valiant effort helped Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) post a fighting 173/7 in Chandigarh.
