When asked about his own form this season, he replied that it has been a little frustrating for him as well.

“For me personally, this season has been frustrating and a little disjointed. But our openers have done most of the work and when you come in, your role changes. So you try to adopt but it doesn’t come off every time.”

Commenting about how Khaleel Ahmed has been a revelation for them, Williamson said, “yes he has been a big positive for us. Whenever he has got his opportunities he has been brilliant. He sort of gives you a cushion during the middle overs. And when you can take wickets during the middle phase, you can dominate the game.”
