Rohit Sharma scored his maiden fifty this season to guide Mumbai to 155/4 against Chennai Super Kings in an IPL match in Chennai on Friday.

Put into bat, Quinton De Kock was dismissed cheaply at the start of the innings. But skipper Rohit Sharma (67) and Evin Lewis (32) recovered well as they put up a 75-run stand for the second wicket.

Despite a good start with the bat, Chennai spinners were able to pull things back. Mitchell Santner made good use of the surface at Chepauk to finish with a miserly 2/13. Meanwhile, Tahir (1/37) and Harbhajan (0/23) also did well with ball to restrict the Mumbai batsmen.

Earlier, MS Dhoni, along with Ravindra Jadeja, was rested due to fever, thereby missing his second game for CSK this season.
