India beat New Zealand by seven wickets in the third One-day International at Mohali to take a 2-1 lead in the five match series.

Dhoni’s feat of taking 244 innings to reach 9,000 runs is the sixth quickest in ODIs and Twitter was full of praise for the Indian skipper.

He’s become the first player in the world to reach 9,000 ODI runs with an average of 50+

He may not be the top batsman, but that did not stop Dhoni from becoming the top scoring batsman.

Some even thought about his on-screen counterpart, Sushant Singh Rajput, who has to pull up his socks for the sequel.

Virat Kohil did not go unnoticed either, with a lot of praise being showered on the Dhoni-Kohli team.
