Sehwag Writes a Two-Line Application For India Coach Job: Reports
Former India opening batsman Virender Sehwag always has different ideas up his sleeve.
A flamboyant opener, a candid commentator and legit funny-man of Twitter, Virender Sehwag is now said to be the front-runner to replace Anil Kumble as the Indian cricket coach.
And if reports are to be believed, it looks like Sehwag already thinks he has the job!
Why else would he send a two line application letter, with no CV attached!
Indian Express spoke to a member of the BCCI about the application process and quotes the official as saying, “Sehwag being Sehwag has sent his application in two lines. There was no CV attached to it. We had to ask him to send his CV too along with his application. After all it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview.”

Sehwag, who commentated during the India-Pakistan match in Birmingham, has returned to India to continue his work on the Champions Trophy from the studio.
Apart from Sehwag, present coach Anil Kumble, Australia’s Tom Moody, England’s Richard Pybus and former India cricketers Dodda Ganesh and Lalchand Rajput.
Just like Ravi Shastri last year, Anil Kumble will have to go through the entire process. The interviews will be conducted by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which comprises of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. The CAC will take the interviews via skype from London.
According to Indian Express, former Australian fast bowler Craig McDermott had also applied for the coach job, but he has not been given an interview slot.
Some BCCI sources said that McDermott’s application was received by the Indian cricket board after the deadline.
However, the Australian said that he had sent his application on time.
McDermott served as Australia’s bowling coach from the 2013-14 Ashes series to World T20 last year. Even when Australia won the World Cup in 2015, the former pacer was part of the support staff.
