The vice captain of Indian women’s cricket team Harmanpreet Kaur came back to a hero’s welcome in her hometown of Moga, Punjab. In a show of support, Kaur was taken on a victory lap across the city as she held the Indian tricolour in her hands, despite the Indian team falling just 9 runs short in the finals. She said that she was overwhelmed by the welcome she received.

I have come home after a long time. I had never anticipated that I will receive such a welcome.
