Amul comic strips have always had a funny take on issues relevant to the Indian public. The company is back this time with Virat Kohli’s animated send off to Steve Smith after the first T20 between India and Australia at Adelaide.
Virat Kohli had made a ‘chatterbox’ gesture towards Steve Smith after Smith got out. Many thought that Kohli was taunting the Aussie test captain as he was wearing a microphone and talking to commentators at the time of dismissal. However, Kohli later clarified that the action was in response to Smith’s chatter directed towards Indian bowlers.
This is not the first time that Amul has taken notice of Kohli. The brand always seems to find a thing or two to say about him.
When the crowd in Mumbai booed Virat during IPL 2013, the Amul girl stood in his support.
Similarly, Amul supported Anushka Sharma who was getting flak on social media as she was present in the stadium when India lost the World Cup 2015 semi-final. Amul opposed those who were claiming that she “distracted” Kohli from the game.
