Col (Retd) Rajyavardhan Rathore, India’s minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, wants India to run on 31 October. “When you get together, it’s unity but when you run together it is unity in motion. It's the most beautiful thing our country can do today.”

Approximately 15,000 to 20,000 people are likely to match steps with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ‘Run for Unity’, an annual event organised by the central government to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.

Rathore happens to be the first ever sportsperson to take charge of the sports ministry. His eagerness to bring about a sporting revolution in the country is evident from his excited tone as he discusses his plans and initiatives outlined for the forthcoming months.

In an exclusive with The Quint, Rathore has shared his vision for the country’s sporting future. Watch this space over the weekend.
