In his campaign, President Donald Trump made several factually incorrect remarks.

Even as he officially takes up the presidency on 20 January, a lot of people continue to wonder how his rhetoric won him the top post in American politics.

According to psychologists, Trump’s unsophisticated language has been easy to absorb, and the repetitive mentions of the several false claims he made in his campaign speeches ended up giving an illusory coat of truth.
