After drawing the first match, India beat England by a massive 246 runs in the second Test at Visakhapatnam. Skipper Virat Kohli, who was playing his 50th Test, was named man of match for his outstanding 167 (off 267 balls) in the first and 81 (off 109 balls) in the second innings.

Electing to bat first, India replaced seasoned opener Gautam Gambhir with KL Rahul in the second Test against England at Visakhapatnam.
After KL Rahul and Murali Vijay failed to add to the Indian tally for the opening stand, skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara both scored massive centuries.
Although missing a double century, Virat’s 167 helped India put up a total of 455 runs in the first innings.
Ashwin’s five-wicket haul bundled out England for 255 runs in the first innings, helping India to take a lead of 200 runs.
Deciding against a follow-on, India came out to bat again on day three.
England bowlers Adil Rashid and Stuart Broad took four wickets each, restricting India to a total of 204 runs in the second innings.
It was Virat who shone again, scoring the only half century in the innings, helping India give England a daunting target of 405.
In England’s second innings, Alistair Cook and Haseeb Hameed added 75 for the opening stand but consumed 50 out of the 150 overs. Both were out on day four, England ended day four at 87 for 2, with 318 more runs to win.
The final day saw the English batting order collapse. Shami picked up two wickets in the first session, while Jayant, Jadeja and Ashwin picked up one each.
After lunch, Ashwin picked up another wicket while debutant Jayant Yadav picked up two, helping India win by a massive 246 runs.
