The passing-out parade of the 134th course of the prestigious National Defence Academy took place on Wednesday, 30 May, in Pune, with President Ram Nath Kovind reviewing the parade and lauding the armed forces as a symbol of excellence and dedication for the entire country.
“The Armed Forces are a symbol of excellence and dedication for the entire country. My best wishes to the cadets,” the President said on Twitter.
The armed forces are not merely about doing a job, they are about answering a calling. And this is a calling for a rare breed of human being.

Today, the NDA cadets have become “role models for our young people, guarantors of our peace and prosperity, and guardians of our nation”, Kovind said.
“Delighted” to review the passing-out parade, Kovind said as the supreme commander of the armed forces, this was a moment of immense satisfaction for him, reported PTI.
“A soldier or an officer in uniform evokes admiration and trust everywhere in the country,” President Kovind said. “The armed forces are not merely about doing a job, they are about answering a calling,” the President said. President Kovind said that the cadets coming from different backgrounds represent unity as well as pluralism.
Saying that the parade and the cadets participating in it represent unity as well as pluralism of the Indian society, the president commended the NDA as a crucible of valour and bravery, and not just a training facility.
