Karnataka's City of Palaces, Mysuru has been decked up for the grand finale of the 10-day Dussehra festival on 19 October, with lakhs of people expected to witness the parade, IANS reported quoting district official.

The festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil and marks the slaying of legendary demon Mahishasura by Hindu Goddess Chamundeshwari.

Various other events were organised across the city in the days leading up to the finale of Dussehra. Events such as Yuva Yoga, flower show and open street festival were also organised by the government.

The 10-day festival concludes with a spectacular victory parade of caparisoned elephants, horse-drawn carriages, thousands of artists, cultural troupes and tableaux marching through the city.
