From the most troubled, most violent parts of the world. These are the top ten origin countries of the world’s refugees.
Syria: 4.9 million
Afghanistan: 2.7 million
Somalia: 1.12 million
South Sudan: 7,78,700
Sudan: 6,28,800
Democratic Republic of Congo: 5,41,500
Central African Republic: 4,71,100
Myanmar: 4,51,800
Eritrea: 4,11,300

Turkey hosts 2.5 million refugees
Pakistan: 1.6 million
Lebanon: 1.1 million
Iran: 9,79,400
Ethiopia: 7,36,100

Democratic Republic of Congo: 3,83,100
Chad: 3,69,500
Just 10 countries host 58% of the world’s refugees. Half of these countries are located in Sub-Saharan Africa. Four of these – Ethiopia, Uganda, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo – are Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
