A video showing a group of men, chanting slogans at a rally, dressed in green jerseys and holding green flags featuring a white crescent moon symbol, is being shared on social media platforms.
Users claimed that it showed Muslims in Kerala taking part in pro-Pakistan demonstrations. These claims are being shared in relation to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
This post gathered 2.4 million views at the time of writing this story. (Archives of similar claims can be found here and here.)
Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.
The jerseys and flags did not feature the Pakistan national flag, but that of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML)
It shows a demonstration by the party for opposing the Waqf Amendment Act that took place earlier in April, predating to the Pahalgam attack.
What we found: At first, we looked at the flag closely and noticed that it did not match with Pakistan's national flag. We compared the two and found visible differences.
Here are the differences between the two flags.

We also did not not hear any slogans about Pakistan or Pahalgam in the clip, as well. Upon translation, we found that the crowd was cheering for Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal, the Kerala state president of IUML.
We, also, noticed that the t-shirts read 'Arangadi' (village in Kasargod), and ran a keyword search, accordingly.
Team WebQoof, then, found the same video posted by an Instagram account named ‘arangadi_official_page’. The video was posted on 16 April with the title, ‘Kozhikode’.
This meant that this rally predated the attack in Pahalgam which happened on 22 April.
We went through the Instagram account and found a flyer posted on 15 April which noted that a protest was called against the Waqf Act on 16 April.
Upon running another keyword search, we found a report by Maktoob Media from 16 April, which noted a thousands congregated at Kozhikode Beach in Kerala to oppose the Waqf Amendment Act 2025.
The IUML, which organised the event, claimed that more than two lakh individuals participated in the protest.
We reached out the spokesperson of the IUML who stated that the video showed a rally against the Waqf law on 16 April. They also noted that the jerseys and flags were that of the party and not Pakistan.
Team WebQoof has fact-checked similar claims made viral against the IUML, previously. You can read some of them here and here.
Conclusion: A video showing a demonstration by the IUML has gone viral on social media to falsely claim that it shows them in Pakistan's jersey and their national flag, following the attack in Pahalgam.
