This video predates India's Operation Sindoor, which took place on 7 May. We were able to trace it back to 30 April.

A video is going viral on social media platforms to claim that it shows Indian drones attacking an area in Lahore, Pakistan.

Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.

  • This is a clip from Kharkov in Ukraine. We were able to trace it back to 30 April 2025.

What we found: A divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on the keyframes from the viral video.

  • We found the same video on YouTube by 'breakingbadsm,' recorded on 30 April 2025.

  • It noted, “Kharkov - the moment of arrival of one of the "Geraniums" during the processing of the objects of the Ukrainian Wehrmacht (translated from Russian to English).”

Here is a screenshot from the YouTube video.

  • We ran a relevant keyword search and found a report by by Pravda on 30 April 2025, which mentioned, “Strike of the Geranium UAV on a target in Kharkov.”

  • These points meant that the video predated Operation Sindoor which took place on 7 May 2025.

About India's military action: On 8 May, India announced, “Today morning, Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised." (sic.)

Conclusion: We were able to trace this video back to 30 April, predating Operation Sindoor which took place on 7 May.
