A video which purportedly shows United States President Donald Trump blaming the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for inciting conflict in Arunachal Pradesh using the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act (AFRA) is doing the rounds on social media platforms.
What have users said?: An X (formerly Twitter) user shared the video with a caption saying that it shows President Trump's about the RSS. The claim comes after the recent visit of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visiting Arunachal Pradesh.
What are the facts?: The video has been manipulated using the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. The original clip dates back to May 2017, which showed him talking about firing FBI Director James Comey.
Finding the original clip: Using the help of Google Lens to isolate the keyframes of President Trump speaking, we conducted a reverse image search that directed us to a news report by NBC News.
The report carried visuals from an interview, which showed Trump wearing the same attire seen in the viral clip.
It said that Trump had sat down for dinner with the then FBI director James Comey on 27 January.
Taking this as clue, we performed a keyword search on YouTube and found the longer version of the clip uploaded on the media outlet's official channel.
It was published on 12 May 2017 and its title said, "President Donald Trump On His Firing Of James Comey (Extended Exclusive) | NBC Nightly News."
What about the viral clip of President Trump?: At first, we noticed that the lip-movement and the words did not sync with each other.
To further verify the authenticity of the viral clip, we passed it through the detection tool named 'Hive Moderation'. The tool showed over 99 percent probability of the clip being an AI-generated one.
Team WebQoof used 'Resemble AI' to check the audio of the clip, which, too, showed that it was fake.

PIB's fact-checking wing clarifies: The official X handle of PIB fact-checking wing clarified termed the video as "a digitally altered fake video". The post that was shared on 6 March further urged people to beware of such AI-generated clips on social media platforms.
Conclusion: It is evident that this video of Donald Trump blaming the RSS for inciting conflict in Arunachal Pradesh is manipulated and not real.
