How did we find out the truth?: We performed a relevant keyword search on Google but did not find any credible news reports that would support the claim.

  • Coming back to the video, we noticed 'Sobering Satire and Faux News' written on the viral video and performed a keyword search again which led us to a YouTube video.

  • This was shared by 'Sobering Satire' on 25 January and it matched with the viral video.

  • The description of the video stated that this video is satire and that Trump's original video was masked using the Clive AI tool.

The channel's bio had specified that it shared videos as political satires.

  • We then ran the viral video through the AI detection tool by Contrails AI, which concluded that both the video and audio of this clip had been manipulated.

  • It further stated that there is a visible distortion of the face and manipulation near the lips region.

  • Next, we performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral videos and this led us to the original video shared by WAAY 31 News.
