No, This Video Doesn’t Show Man Recently Getting Shot in Daylight in Bihar

A video of a pillion rider shooting a man riding a bike is being circulated on social media platforms with a claim that it shows a recent incident from Bihar.

What else did the claim say?: Those sharing the clip have identified the man as one Pawan Dusadh and said that he was allegedly shot in daylight. The users have also taken a dig at the ruling government in the state.

What is the truth?: The incident could be traced back to October 2024, when a man named Gabriel Júnior de Oliveira Medeiros was allegedly murdered in Brazil's João Pessoa. This makes the claim false.

How did we find that out?: We divided the video into several keyframes and performed a reverse image search on them.

• A Google Lens search directed us to a similar visual published in a report by 'NBN PARAÍBA' in October 2024.

• It said that a 22-year-old man, who worked as a motorcycle courier, was shot dead while riding a motorcycle in João Pessoa, Brazil.

• The Civil Police had reportedly identified the suspects and had launched investigations to nab them.

• As per the police chief Giovani Giacomelli, the victim had no criminal record.

Other reports: A different news report shared by 'O POVO PB' identified the victim as one Gabriel Júnior de Oliveira Medeiros, a 22-year-old man.

• The report further said that the police had identified one of the suspects and were very close to identifying the second.
