Is the claim true?: The viral video is not from Pakistan.

  • It shows an Israeli airstrike demolishing a structure in the Chiah region south of Beirut, Lebanon.

What we found: We divided the viral video into mulitple keyframes and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.

  • We came across a viral video posted in a report by Al Arabiya on 22 November 2024.

  • The report noted that the Israeli military conducted airstrikes in multiple locations, such as the Burj Samali area in Lebanon.

  • Further, we found the same video featured in a report by The Guardian, as well. It was published on 22 November 2024.

  • They reported that the video captured the moment an Israeli airstrike destroyed a building in the Chiah region, located south of Beirut, on 22 November.

  • It happened during intense confrontations between Israeli troops and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

  • This move had come after Israel deployed ground forces into southern Lebanon as a key element of its rapid campaign against Hezbollah in October 2024.

  • It is claimed that the goal was to ensure the repatriation of thousands who were forced out of northern Israel due to rocket strikes by the Iran-supported militant group, which initiated the Gaza conflict in support of Hamas in October 2023.

  • We also found several social media posts from November 2024 which posted this video. You can view some of them here and here.

Conclusion: A video has gone viral on social media to falsely claim that it shows a building in Pakistan being bombed following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
