As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completes three years in office, the Congress released a seven-point chargesheet against the BJP government. The seven-pointer compared the stand of BJP before 2014 Lok Sabha elections to the scenario after three years of running the government.

The Congress released this ‘detailed’ report on the three years of Modi government in a press conference last week.

The party accused the Modi government of ‘doublespeak’ on Goods and Services Tax (GST), by stating that prior to elections in 2014, BJP was against the GST but is now projecting it as a success story.

Congress also pointed out that BJP promised two crore jobs when they won the mandate but three years later, two lakh engineers have lost their jobs. The BJP was also called out for changing its stand on Aadhaar, FDI and on inability of the government to curb farmer suicide.

The Fasal Bima Yojana, the Congress claimed, helped the private insurance firms claim more premium, making the rich richer. They also alleged that the government diverted attention from important issues, to “emotional flash points”.
