Russia will give e-visas to Indians visiting its cultural capital Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and extend the facility for the rest of the country by 2021, official said on Tuesday.
The facility starts from October 1 and can be availed by filling an electronic application form and uploading a digital photo at least four days before the expected date of arrival in the Russian Federation.
Indians will be able to obtain single business, humanitarian and tourist visas in the form of an electronic document, which will be valid 30 days from the date of issuance and the maximum period of stay in the Russian Federation should not exceed eight days.

One person was killed and seven others injured in a clash between two groups following a dispute over purchase of eggs, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday evening when Mohd Israel (50), an egg seller and Irfan had dispute while purchasing eggs, they said. The two groups clashed with sticks and rods, police said.
Eight persons belonging to both the factions were injured in the incident and were rushed to a hospital. Israel died during treatment, police said.

Renukoot Nagar Panchayat chairman was shot dead by unidentified miscreants outside his house, police said today.
Shiv Pratap Singh alias Bablu (45) was sitting outside his house in Renukoot on Monday evening when some unidentified people came and fired at him, police said. He was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment.
The police are probing the matter. No arrests have been made so far in this connection, they added.
