Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa released a statement on Thursday after early trends showed AIADMK will emerge victorious and from the government after the state assembly elections.

In the statement, she conveyed her “heartfelt thanks” to the people of Tamil Nadu and credited AIADMK’s victory to the people of Tamil Nadu.

The people of Tamil Nadu have put a full-stop to family-rule. They have crushed all those who asked for votes as a family. They have given a deserving treatment to all those parties who believed in opinion polls and did not place their belief in the people of Tamil Nadu.

She termed this victory as the victory for democracy and promised that she will work day-and-night for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu.

She also promised to make good on AIADMK’s election manifesto and work “tirelessly for Tamil Nadu to be a leading state in India”.
