3 JNU Students ‘Victims’ of Najeeb’s Violence: ABVP Letter to Cops
ABVP says that the three students allegedly involved in the scuffle with Najeeb Ahmad are receiving death threats.
A day after a solidarity meet for Jawaharlal Nehru University student Najeeb Ahmad, who has now been missing for 21 days, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has written a letter to the Delhi Commissioner of Police.
The letter insists that the three students – Vikrant, Ankit and Sunil – allegedly involved in the scuffle with Ahmad, following which he went missing are the “victims of the violence occurring on the night of 14 October.”
The student party alleges that the three students are being harassed and are receiving “death threats.”
The letter has been signed by Alok Kumar Singh, President of the ABVP-JNU Unit, and Saurabh Sharma, former Joint Secretary of the Student’s Union.
Other than asking for security for the three students, ABVP has asked for Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and Ahmad’s roommate Mohd Qasim to be interrogated.
The party has accused the “radical organisations” on the campus of hiding Ahmad while also “enjoying support from some faculty.” They have demanded for the campus to be thoroughly searched.
ABVP has asked for the details of the police investigation to be made public so that the “rumour-mongering by JNUSU” against ABVP can be stopped.
