Ex-Manipur Min’s Son Falls to Death from Hauz Khas Restaurant
Siddharth, 19, son of ex-Manipur education min M Okendru, fell from the 2nd floor of a restaurant in Hauz Khas.
Siddharth, 19, the son of former education minister of Manipur M Okendru, died under mysterious circumstances after falling from the second floor of a restaurant in south Delhi's Hauz Khas area, police said on 13 August.
Around 4:10 PM on 12 August, the police were informed that a man fell from the second floor of a restaurant, said a senior police officer. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment, he said. However, the restaurant manager said that he had not come to the eatery. “Siddharth hadn’t come to the restaurant and the spot that he fell from was not on our premises. Going to the terrace is prohibited. We have given CCTV footage to the police,” the manager told ANI.
Siddharth's sister has alleged foul play in the incident.
Police have not found any eyewitnesses so far. CCTV footage from the area is being scanned to determine the sequence of events that led to his death.
