The US has not seen Pakistan taking sustained and decisive actions required to bring the Taliban to the negotiating table, a top Trump adminstration official told lawmakers who demanded suspension of all American aid to Pakistan.

Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Alice Wells during a Congressional hearing on Afghanistan told the lawmakers that Pakistan has a particularly crucial role to play in the war-torn country as without its support it will challenging to achieve the US' objectives under the South Asia strategy.

“While we've seen some positive steps, our assessment has been that we have not seen the sustained and decisive actions that are really required to ensure that the Taliban take this peace process seriously,” she said to PTI.

Limited Aadhar Access to Police for Investigation Necessary: NCRB

Limited access to Aadhaar data was needed to be given to police for the purpose of catching first-time offenders and for identification of unidentified bodies, National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) Director Ish Kumar said on Thursday, 21 June, PTI reported.

At present, around 50 lakh cases were registered every year in the country and most of them committed by first-time offenders who leave their fingerprints, which would not be available in police records, he told the 19th All India Conference of Directors of Finger Prints Bureau.

Three Minor Girls Go Missing from Shimla's Balika Ashram

Three minor girls have gone missing from the government-run Balika Ashram in Tutikandi, Shimla. The police say that the caretaker dropped the girls outside the school, but "they never arrived".

Governor Vohra Calls All-party Meeting in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra today held a discussion with chief secretary BB Vyas in Srinagar, reviewing all major matters pending the approval of chief minister and the cabinet when the BJP withdrew its support to the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP government.

Vohra has also called an all-party meeting on Friday, 22 June, to further discuss the situation in the wake of implementation of Governor's rule in the state.

24-Year-Old Man Stabbed to Death in Delhi's Jaitpur

A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death by another person of the same age on Wednesday, 20 June, in Jaitpur, Delhi. The man was murdered allegedly for failing to pay Rs 1,000 that he had borrowed from the accused. The police have recovered the weapon of crime, and the accused has been arrested.
