It is election season and five of India’s 29 states are going to poll this year. West Bengal is one of the five and with a voting population of 6.5 crore, the outcome of the election is bound to make the Centre sit up and take notice.

Even as the state recovers from the aftermath of a tragedy that left 26 people dead, the politically fraught areas of West Bengal will vote in Phase 1B of the election on 11 April. The entire election will take place over six phases.

The Quint gives you the numbers that’ll help you make sense of this phase of the elections.
