West Bengal to Now be Called Bangla or Bongo, Says State Minister

Partho Chatterjee, West Bengal Minister, said that a special assembly session would be called to discuss the change.

  • West Bengal Minister, Partha Chatterjee said on Tuesday that the Cabinet has decided to change the state’s name to either Bangla or Bongo and that the proposal will be sent to the Centre. In English, it will be called Bengal.
  • Chatterjee also added that a special session of assembly will be called soon to discuss this.
