We, the People: What Rights Do Indians Want This Republic Day?

The people of India appeal to the country’s lawmakers to grant them the rights they want.

In India, marital rape is not a crime but sex among consenting adults of the same gender is against the so-called “order of nature”. Such contradictions accompanied by bans – on porn, beef and women in temples – impinge upon individual freedom.

Despite having the world’s largest Constitution, we still seem to be lacking our basic rights. So this Republic Day, watch the people of India make an appeal to the country’s lawmakers for what is due to them.
