The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a lockdown in the state effective from 10 pm on Friday, 10 July till 5 am on 13 July.

The announcement comes as the total number of confirmed cases in the state stand at 31,156, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.

Out of these, 9,980 are active cases, and 20,331 people have been cured or discharged. The death toll in the state stands at 845.

So, what’s allowed in the state during the 55-hour lockdown? Here’s all you need to know.

What activities/services will remain prohibited during the lockdown period?

  • Offices, markets and commercial establishments will remain shut.
  • Essential services like grocery shops will be allowed to remain open.
  • Hospitals and pharmacies will also continue to remain open.

What about inter-state travel? Can I go from Delhi to Noida?

Inter-state travel via road has been put on hold for the 55 hours, starting 10 pm on Friday.

I have a flight/train to catch. Will I be allowed to go to the airport/railway station?

Yes, the Uttar Pradesh government has said that there will be no disruption to the train and flight services. Anyone with a valid ticket will be allowed to travel.

What about intra-state travel? Can I go from Kanpur to Lucknow?

No, during the 55-hour lockdown, intra-state travel will not be allowed. However, if you have a valid train or air ticket, you can undertake the journey.

There is a family emergency and I need to travel within/outside the state. What should I do?

In this case, you have to apply for an e-pass from the Uttar Pradesh government. You can apply for an e-pass here.

Will buses be allowed to ply? What about cab/taxi aggregators?

No, public transport will not be allowed during the weekend lockdown, including cabs and buses. Private vehicles too will be allowed only for essential purposes.

Is the lockdown likely to continue during weekends?

There has been no official information regarding this from the UP government. As of now, it has been imposed for 55 hours, starting 10 pm on Friday.
