The Triple Talaq bill — which makes the pronouncement of instant triple talaq punishable — was passed by the Lok Sabha on 27 December. The fate of this bill now hangs in the balance. It is the outcome of the vote in the Rajya Sabha that will decide which side the scale tilts.
