Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living and the World Cultural Festival controversy has said that Nobel Malala Yousafzai did not deserve the award.
The spiritual guru also said that he would never accept the Nobel Peace Prize.
Even though the Nobel Peace prize winner Malala Yousufzai has been internationally acclaimed for her stand on girls’ education, despite the death threats received from the Taliban in Pakistan’s Swat valley, Sri Sri Ravishankar expressed his disapproval over her credibility.
The Economic Times quoted Sri Sri as saying:
When asked in Latur if he would be interested in getting a Nobel prize for peace, the Indian spiritual guru said that he wouldn’t accept it even if he was offered one. Without naming Malala, he said there was no point in getting a Nobel without contributing anything.
Sri Sri Ravishankar was in Latur, Maharashtra to oversee a water conservation project that was being run by volunteers from his organisation.
