A staffer at Hilltop Hotel in Worli identified Sanjeev Khanna, one of the accused in Sheena Bora murder trial, as a guest staying at the hotel on 24 April 2012 – the day she was murdered, according to a report by The Indian Express.

Sheena Bora (24) was killed in Mumbai in April 2012, allegedly by her mother Indrani Mukerjea with the help of her former husband Sanjeev Khanna. Police had arrested Indrani and Khanna in 2015, when the incident came to light after Indrani’s driver revealed details of the crime.

The staffer at Hilltop Hotel said Khanna ordered an Italian dish at 9:36 pm on 24 April. It was served to him after 30 minutes. He also said Khanna was staying in room 216.

On cross examination by advocates Niranjan Mundargi and Shreyansh Mithare, he added that he could not remember the names or room numbers of the other guests to whom he served food that night. But the CBI claims that Khanna was spotted at the residence of Indrani and Peter around the same time.

Meanwhile, Indrani’s husband Peter Mukerjea has moved an application to access a bank locker that he holds jointly with his sons, in Worli. He claimed in the court that the locker has gold that have to be handed over to Indrani as per the terms of the mutual divorce petition.
