School Wasn't Supposed to be Open

According to the UP DGP, the school was open against the order of the district administration to close schools due to cold weather.

Shambhunath Yadav, the Etah District Magistrate, further said that holidays were declared from 18 January to 21 January on account of the weather and action will be taken against “those responsible.”

15 School Students Feared Dead

As many as 15 school students are feared dead after a school bus collided with a truck in Etah district's Aliganj, Director General of Police, Uttar Pradesh said.

The bus was carrying over 50 students to J S Public school in Etah when a speeding truck rammed into it near Asadpur village.

The school had remained open even after the Etah administration announced three days of holidays due to cold, according to some reports.
