1. YSRCP Worker Murdered in Vizag District

A local leader of YSRC Party was murdered on the outskirts of V Sarabavaram village in Vizag district on Thursday night.

B Raju (35), a YSRCP member, was the husband of village sarpanch BDV Lakshmi.

The crime took place within the limits of Rolugunta police station.

Raju was returning home around 10.45 pm when a group of unidentified people attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and fled from the spot.

2. Man Extorts Lover's Family to End Affair

The Navi Mumbai Anti-Extortion cell arrested a 37-year-old divorcee, Pritam Ramesh Ranade, a resident of Taloja, who was trying to extort money from a 25-year-old woman's family with whom he was in a relationship with. Accused was also arrested for a short period of time for dowry harassment in 2015 before getting bailed. According to police sources, the victim found during this time that Ranade was married in 2006 and was father to three children.

Ranade had already extorted Rs 1 lakh from the woman's family and was threatening them to cough up Rs 2 lakh more. He claimed if the money was not given to him he would upload inappropriate pictures of her online.

3. Nursery Student Sexually Assaulted in School

A nursery student of a leading school in Gurgaon was sexually assaulted allegedly by a housekeeping staff. The accused was arrested on Thursday after the matter was reported to police.

The three-year-old victim had gone to the washroom at the school premises when the accused, Yogesh, allegedly touched her inappropriately and assaulted her. He also threatened her and told her not to disclose it to anyone.

But, the girl complained to her mother following which a complaint was lodged at the Sushant Lok Police Station on Wednesday.

4. B-Town Imposter Arrested for Blackmailing Woman

The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a 33-year-old man yesterday for allegedly cheating and blackmailing a struggling female assistant director-writer by posing as Bollywood director Ayan Mukerji and promising to give her a chance in the film industry.

The accused, identified as Mohd Shoeb Mohd Iqbal Jethwa, has been handed over to the Malad police.

5. Man Murdered in Muzaffarnagar

A 28-year-old man was allegedly murdered by unidentified assailants while he was waiting for a bus in Shamli district on Friday, police said.

Mohit Kumar, who worked in a private firm in Delhi, was killed by slitting his throat last night, Circle Officer Nishank Sharma said.

The incident occurred when the victim was waiting for the bus on Meerut-Karnal Highway to head back to Delhi, he said.

6. Four Held on Charges of Burglary in Kasaragod

Police on Thursday arrested four members of a gang on charges of stealing around 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments, Rs.25,000, and a car from the a house at Kadambar, near Manjeswaram.

The arrested have been identified as Moideen Ansar, Abdul Rahman Mubarak, Mohammed Haneefa, and Imthiyas, all in their 20s and residents of the town and nearby areas.

They were charged under Section 395 (dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code and remanded in judicial custody.

7. 3 Arrested for Robbery in New Delhi

Three people have been arrested on Thursday for allegedly robbing others of gold ornaments, cash and a motorcycle at gunpoint in northeast Delhi's Shahdara area, police said.

On the intervening night of 7 and 8 August, Deepak Dutt (36), Punit Rana (28) and Shahid (29) robbed gold ornaments, cash and mobile phones from a house. While fleeing, they also robbed gold ornaments and a motorcycle from a couple, AK Singla, DCP (northeast) said.

8. Domestic Help Robbed Rs 22L of Employer's Money, 4 Held

Police on Friday said nearly Rs 22 lakh cash was allegedly robbed from a man at gunpoint in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area following which four people were arrested.

They said the man was robbed of Rs 21.5 lakh on 26 September when he was carrying the money of his employer, for whom he has been working as domestic help for the past 35 years.

According to a complaint filed by the domestic help, two bike-borne men robbed him when he was going in a car with driver Satender towards North Delhi with the money, said Vijay Kumar, DCP (West).

9. 3 People Killed As Truck Ploughs Into Tea Shop In Bihar

Three people were killed on Friday as a truck ploughed into a tea shop at Basmatia chowk in Bihar's Madhubani district, police said.

Some customers were sipping tea at a roadside shop when a speeding truck lost control while trying to stave off collision with a vehicle coming from the other side and smashed into them, Saharganth Police Station in-charge Premlal Paswan said.
