1. Minor Girl Allegedly Gang-Raped, Police Arrest One

A teenaged girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in Haibatpur village in Muzaffarnagar district.

The girl was returning from a programme on Tuesday when the accused abducted and took her to a vacant house where she was gang-raped. A case has been registered against the two accused and the police have arrested one person, identified as Pawan Kumar.

2. Two Cattle Traders Shot Dead Over Monetary Dispute in UP

Two cattle traders from Muradnagar were allegedly shot dead by a dairy owner over monetary dispute.

Vijay, the dairy owner of Bhikkanpur village, bought a cow and a buffalo from Wasim (25) and Naim (28) two months back on credit. He was unwilling to pay them even after repeated visits and reminders by the duo. On Tuesday, Vijay called both of them at around 4 pm to collect the payment, after which their bodies were recovered from Bhikkanpur village and sent for post-mortem.

Vijay and other accomplices Anand Pal, Ashu, Deepak, Amit and Billu were arrested on Wednesday and their mobile phones and the alleged weapon of murder have been recovered.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC and National Security Act, he said.

3. Prisoner With Mental Illness Murdered in Clash With Cellmate

A prisoner with mental illness was beaten to death allegedly by his cellmate at the central prison in Madurai, said a PTI report.

Two cellmates of same name, Senthil, were lodged in the same cell of central prison. Both of them had been diagnosed with mental illness and depression.

The DIG of prison Kanagaraj and Superintendent of Police, Urmila, inspected the cell and suggested that the accused be admitted to the psychiatric ward at Keezhpakkam Hospital. An investigation is on to ascertain why both the patients were lodged in the same cell.

4. Three Held for Kidnapping, Raping Minor in Madhya Pradesh

Three persons were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping and gang-raping a minor girl in Katni town, said a PTI report.

On 19 February, the girl, a student of class 8, was injured after she fell from an auto at Piproudh while returning from school. She was lying on the road and crying, when Guddu Chouhan (35), Bhola Sahu (45) and Shani Yadav (22) on the pretext of taking the girl to hospital allegedly took her to a nearby forest and raped her.

The girl managed to escape and reached her house and narrated the ordeal to her parents. Following this, the trio was arrested and a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered.

5. Youth Booked for Blackmailing Girl

A youth was booked, on Wednesday, by Faridabad police for allegedly blackmailing a college student for the last two years after clicking obscene pictures of her.

The matter came to light when the accused sent those pictures to the girl’s brother, on Tuesday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation is underway.

6. Robbers Kill Elderly WomanThen Loot Her House

An elderly woman in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh was killed by unidentified men. The killers then robbed the jewellery in her house.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night under Sanawad police station area, when the victim, identified as Mehroom Bi (55), was alone in her house. The woman, upon noticing intruders in the house, raised an alarm, after which the accused allegedly killed her by slitting her throat.

The accused later fled with jewellery worth Rs 20,000 and other valuables from the house. A case has been registered against unidentified accused under relevant sections of the IPC.

7. Mentally Challenged Man Kills His Mother & Brother

A mentally challenged man allegedly murdered his mother and younger brother, said a PTI report.

With injuries in his neck, the mentally challenged Senthilkumar was also admitted in Salem government hospital, police said, Police Inspector Umashankar said.

Senthilkumar, following an altercation with his mother and brother over his marriage, dragged a knife and killed them, police said.

8. One Held For Killing 55 Year Old Woman

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday for allegedly killing an elderly woman.

A 55-year-old woman was found murdered on Tuesday. Her body was recovered from a pool at Mantripalem area. The accused Sunil Devidas Sapre, tried to rape the woman when she had gone to collect firewood from an orchard. When she resisted, he killed her. He threw her body inside a pool to make it appear as a case of death by drowning.

Following a complaint by her daughter, a police team reached the spot of crime and recovered a sickle. During investigations, police nabbed Sunil, a native of Rampur Maharashtra, Naik said.

9. Owner Stabs Tenant to Death

A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Thane, allegedly by his house owner over a minor issue, said a PTI report.

Aahut Yadav lived in a chawl in Rabodi and was asked by the owner to vacate the place, which Yadav was delaying. On Tuesday night, the owner’s son Satya Bahadur Singh alias Bandu Singh, visited the victim and had a quarrel with him over vacating the room and in a fit of rage, allegedly attacked him with a knife, severely injuring the tenant.

A case has been lodged under IPC section 302 (murder) based on the complaint filed by younger brother of the victim, who also lived in the chawl room. The accused is still at large and hunt is on to nab him.
