The police claimed to have solved the sensational kidnap and murder of a 15-year-old son of city businessman with the arrest of three youths. According to police, the accused committed the crime drawing inspiration from a movie.
The accused were identified as Sheshu Kumar alias Sairam (20), the prime accused who was known to the boy, Pondara Ravi (21) and Namburi Mohan (23).
Abhay Modhani, a Class 10 student whose father is an industrialist, went missing on March 16 after he had gone to bring snacks from an eatery at Ghode ki Kabar area under Shahinayatgunj police station limits, a police release said.
His body was later found in a carton near a hotel at Secunderabad Railway Station. The teenager’s two-wheeler was also recovered from there.

An AIADMK ward councillor was allegedly hacked to death by two persons.
According to the police, Vijayaraghavan (42), councillor of 51st ward, was sitting in his friend’s shop when two people attacked him with sickles and knives and fled the spot.
The victim was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the motive for the murder was unclear.

In a suspected case of road rage, the Kapurthala district chief of Shiv Sena’s youth wing, Sumit Bhandari, was shot at and injured on Sunday night on National Highway 1, according to a PTI report.
According to the police, the accused was arrested and identified as Raj Kumar Basi, a resident of Jalandhar. Bhandari has been hospitalised and a case has been registered in this connection.
An 18-year-old girl suffering from mental illness was allegedly raped by four men in Asmoli village of Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the incident took place on March 17 when the teenager was taken to a secluded place and raped by the four men.
The accused belong to same village as the victim and are aged between 20-25 years.
The matter came to light when the girl returned home following which her uncle filed a complaint against the four accused.
An FIR was lodged, on Sunday, in the matter but no arrests have been made so far.

A man has been arrested here for allegedly raping his 18-year-old daughter for four years at a rented accommodation.
According to a complaint registered by the victim, she recorded a visual clip of the act as her mother refused to believe that she was being raped by her father.
The victim was pursuing a course in nursing and stayed with her sister and father in a rented house.
The police have arrested the father of the victim.

A 19-year-old girl attempted suicide as she was being constantly harassed by some youths in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh.
In her statement to the police, the girl alleged that she was being constantly harassed by the youths whenever she passed from that locality. She added that she was “fed up with this, she decided to end her life”.
On the basis of the girl’s complaint, a case of eve-teasing was registered against three men and efforts are on to arrest them, the SHO said.

Four people were arrested for the alleged gangrape of a teenaged girl near MKCG Medical College ground in Berhampur, Odisha, according to a PTI report.
The act took place under BN Pur area on Tuesday evening and the survivor lodged a police complaint on Thursday after which the four were arrested on Sunday.
A man has accused his daughter-in-law and her family of murdering his son in Naangal Jesa Bohra area in Rajasthan.
The victim’s father also accused them of destroying evidence.
The alleged incident, according to the complaint, took place between October 8 and October 11 in 2015.
However, the victim’s body has not been recovered yet, the police said.
An FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.

An old lady was robbed by two people at PKN road in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, according to The Hindu.
During the melee, the woman, reportedly, fell on the road and suffered head injuries. She was rushed to a hospital and is receiving treatment.
The Sivakasi east police have registered a complaint and are investigating the case.
