1. Auto Driver Takes 17-Year-Old to House in Ghaziabad, Rapes Her

A 17-year-old physically challenged girl has alleged gang rape by an auto driver and his accomplice on Wednesday, 30 May. The girl said she had boarded a shared auto from Old Bus Stand in Ghaziabad around 11 pm while returning from a factory where she works.

According to the girl, who is from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, the auto driver and his accomplice took her to the rented accommodation of a friend, Ravi, in Garima Garden of Sahibabad instead of dropping her home where they took turns to rape her.

Ravi, a juice seller who had been allegedly asked by the auto driver and his accomplice to take a stroll outside, has been arrested.

2. Youth Abducts and Kills Cousin for Rs 1 Crore in Delhi

A 25-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, 31 May, for abducting and killing his teenage cousin for a ransom of Rs 1 crore. He had roped in his friends to take the boy, Sahil Mehra (17), to a safe house and keep an eye on him while he pretended to join the search.

The accused, Pankaj, had even dissuaded his uncle, Santram Mehra, from informing police. However, the boy’s father panicked after receiving the ransom call and dialled the PCR. Pankaj then asked his friends to shoot Sahil and dump his body in a canal at Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident was reported at Nand Nagri police station on Tuesday evening by Sahil’s family. A team led by DCP (northeast) Atul Thakur and Crime Branch was formed to track down the abductor.

3. Youth Shoots His Three Sisters, One Dies, Other Two Critical in UP’s Bareilly

In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old youth fired at his three sisters on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, 30 and 31 May, killing one of his siblings aged 13 and critically injuring the other two. The incident took place in Ramzanpur village under Kadarchowk police station around 2.30 am on Thursday. Officials said that an FIR has been registered against the accused and his other two sisters have been referred to Bareilly district hospital.

According to police, Yameen Qureshi, who works in a factory in Delhi, had nine children, including six daughters. His wife Afroz, son Rahat Hussain and four daughters — Yasmeen (18), Nazreen (16), Khushnaseen (13) and Nyayjaveen — were living with him in Ramzanpur village.

4. Three Rob Man of i20 Car, Rs 2 Lakh Cash Near Gurugram-Delhi Border

A 35-year-old man was robbed of his Hyundai i20, cash and phone by three armed men on Tuesday evening near Gurugram-Delhi border.

Leela Ram, a resident of Dharuhera in Gurugram, told police that on Tuesday he had gone to Delhi to collect the payment of Rs 2.17 lakh from a client and was heading towards Rewari when he was attacked.

“While driving towards Rewari, I stopped my car near Dharampur Chowk for some work. As I unlocked the car to get out, three men, with their faces covered, barged into my car. Pointing a gun at me, them asked me start driving,” Ram said

5. Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting ‘Objectionable Video’ of Girl

The police have arrested a man in connection with shooting of an "objectionable video" of a girl which was then circulated on social media by some people in Jammu district.

"We have arrested one person in connection with the objectionable video. An FIR has been registered in this regard," Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Vivek Gupta said.

He said that the police has started investigating the matter and those who have circulated it will also be included in ambit of the probe.

6. Marriage Proposal Rejected, Rajasthan Man Ends Life Inside Lover’s House

A 26-year-old man committed suicide inside the house of the young woman he loved, after she rejected his marriage proposal, police said.

Hemant Kumar alias Sonu, a resident of Khanpur town in Jhalawar district, entered the 23-year-old woman’s home in Fatehpur village in Baran district on Wednesday, 30 May, and shot himself in the head using a country-made pistol, a police official said.

While, the girl was away with her family when the incident took place, her younger brother was asleep in one of the rooms and upon hearing the gun shot, rushed outside to find Hemant lying in a pool of blood.

7. Man Held for Raping Daughter in Mohali

A man was arrested by Sohana police on Thursday, 31 May, for allegedly raping his daughter, who is a minor. Police officials said the accused had also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she uttered a word about it to any family member.

According to the Sohana police, the victim is a student of class 12 at a government school in Chandigarh and she lives with her family at a rented accommodation in Mohali. The girl alleged that her father began to rape her since she was in the ninth class. The accused is a labourer.

The victim also stated in her complaint that though she had informed her mother and elder brother, they did not believe her and told her to keep quiet instead. The victim added that her father used to rape her whenever she was alone at home.

8. Man Kidnaps Cousin, Dumps His Body in Canal After Kin Go to Cops

In order to buy a new flat and repay his loan, a 32-year-old man, along with his four associates, allegedly kidnapped his 17-year-old cousin and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from his uncle. However, when the boy’s father approached police, the accused grew scared and threw him into a canal in Muradnagar.

Police have arrested the main accused, Pankaj, and his associates, Naseemuddin, Mursaleem, Shoaib and Salman. They are looking for the body.

According to police, Sahil Mehra went missing on Tuesday evening. His father, Santram Mehra, approached police and said his son had been kidnapped.

9. Teen Girl Says Was Threatened Over Uploading Her Photos Online, Two Held

Two persons were arrested Thursday, 31 May, for allegedly blackmailing a 19-year-old girl by threatening to upload her photographs online. An FIR was registered after the girl, along with her parents, approached the Agripada police on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Virendra Mishra said, “We have arrested two youngsters in connection with the case. One of them knew the 19-year-old girl and had procured some comprising photographs of her. He, along with his friend, started blackmailing her that if she did not pay them, he would put it up on social media.”

An officer from Agripada police station said the family gave a complaint against the two accused identified as Kishan Gupta (20) and Avinash Gupta (21). Police said that Kishan worked as a tourist guide, while the other accused was unemployed.
