Himachal Cop Receives Death Threat ‘From Pakistan’ For Viral Poem
Constable Manoj Thakur had uploaded the video on 26 July, Kargil Day, but it was noticed after Uri attack.
Manoj Thakur, Head Constable, Himachal Pradesh police, the man whose poetic threat to Pakistan went viral after the Uri attack, received a death threat on Facebook. Thakur posted screenshots of personal messages sent to him by two men named Farman Khan and Bilal Ahmad.
While Farman Khan, whose account was accessed from Dubai, threatened to kill Thakur, Bilal Ahmad, presumably a resident of Pakistan, abused HIM.
Thakur’s video went viral a day after 17 soldiers were killed in an attack on a Army post in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
In the video, Thakur recites “Kashmir Toh Hoga, Pakistan Nahi Hoga (Kashmir will remain but Pakistan will not)” did the rounds on the internet.
In the video, a bus full of police personnel echoes “Pakistan nahi hoga” as Manoj Kumar, a Himachal Pradesh head constable carries on with the poem patriotically.
The poem was made popular by Sadhvi Balika Sarawati, a young Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader and is an open warning of violence if Pakistan continues to abet terror.
Kumar uploaded the video on ‘Kargil Day’ (26 July) but it went viral in the aftermath of the Uri terrorist attack.
