The committee set up to probe Bhagwant Mann’s video-streaming of the Parliament premises in July this year, recommended on 8 December that the Aam Aadmi Party leader be suspended for the remaining sittings of the winter session of the Parliament.

The recommendation by the committee, headed by MP Kirit Somaiya, submitted its report before the Lok Sabha on Thursday. The Parliament is set to decide on the issue on 9 December.

The AAP leader has been under fire for having live-streamed his ride to the Parliament in July this year. The video, which was posted on Facebook, rocked both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with lawmakers – mostly from the ruling NDA – demanding strong action against Mann.

His detractors have claimed that the video is a case of clear breach of security. No media house is allowed to shoot the Parliament as the rights are exclusive to the government channels.
