Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for gastrointestinal health complications is now stable and has been discharged, reported news agency ANI.

The Congress leader who is currently in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) remand in connection with the INX media case, was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi on Monday, 28 October.

Sources said Chidambaram was taken to the RML Hospital in the morning but was later shifted to AIIMS, reported news agency PTI.

After complaining of acute stomach pain last week, during a court hearing, Chidambaram requested that he be allowed to go to Hyderabad for his treatment, according to NDTV.

However the ED said that the Congress leader’s health issues can be catered to at the Delhi hospital.
