In a unique solution to old and unusable cars, a car was used as a house roof in Ladakh by Sonam Wangchuk's Himalayan Institute of Alternatives.

This solution was spotted by Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, on Friday, 14 December on Twitter. He shared a series of pictures of a car being used as a roof of a house.

‘A way of life at the Institute where nothing gets discarded’, Mahindra’s tweet read.

Mahindra, while calling it a creative solution, said "Well, this will compete with our auto-shredding venture but it's far more creative!"

Vehicles over 15 years of age, according to many studies, contribute to air pollution and the issue has been a central question on the debate on substantial way to recycle old cars.

The unique use of the car was appreciated by many on Twitter.
