10 Coaches of Jhelum Express Derail in Punjab, 11 Trains Cancelled

The derailment has hit railway movement, causing delays and cancellation of four trains.

  • Nine coaches of the Jhelum Express, which connects Pune to Jammu Tawi, met with an accident early on Tuesday morning near Ludhiana, Punjab.
  • No casualties were reported. Two people were injured in the accident and are being treated at the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana.
  • Due to the blockage on the tracks, 11 other trains, including the Jalandhar-Delhi Intercity, the Amritsar-Delhi Intercity, the Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi and the Amritsar-Chandigarh Superfast Express, got cancelled.
