The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches across seven locations in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore early in the morning of Wednesday, 12 June, news agency ANI reported.

The searches are being conducted at the residences of youths suspected to be in contact with members of the Islamic State (IS), The News Minute reported.

According to the TNM report, NIA sources said that they have multiple search warrants and is conducting raids on those suspected to be in touch with terror groups.

The raids are being carried out by the Cochi unit of the NIA, along with local police. The TNM report says that the searches are being conducted at Anbunagar in Ukkadam, Kuniyamuthur and Pothanur, among other locations.
