NIA Court Convicts 13 Lashkar-e-Taiba Members

  • A National Investigation Agency (NIA) special Court on Thursday convicted 13 people from the Lashkar-e-Taiba who were arrested in 2012 in the Bengaluru conspiracy case.
  • The convicts had tried to kill specific targets including politicians, journalists and police officers. Bengaluru police had named 15 people in the alleged plot to kill right-wing leaders.
  • The court has ordered a jail term of 5 years against the convicts, along with a penalty of Rs 3,000 for engaging in unlawful activities and acts of terrorism.
