Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited an ailing Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Delhi’s AIIMS, on Friday, 29 June. Vajpayee is currently undergoing treatment for a urinary tract infection and was admitted to AIIMS on 11 June.

Modi’s AIIMS visit included the inauguration of a tunnel connecting the main building to its trauma facility and laying the foundation stone of the National Centre for Ageing. Modi in his speech stressed on the government’s initiative towards building modern healthcare facilities for the people.

Because of policy interventions of the government, we are moving towards a situation where we are providing good healthcare for the poor and middle class so that they don’t have to pay unnecessary cost for healthcare.

The prime minister also inaugurated a 555-bed Super Speciality Block in Safdarjung Hospital and dedicated a 300-bed Power Grid Vishram Sadan, reported PTI.
